What is CodeIgniter?
CodeIgniter is an Application Development Framework - a toolkit - for people who build web sites using PHP. Its goal is to enable you to develop projects much faster than you could if you were writing code from scratch, by providing a rich set of libraries for commonly needed tasks, as well as a simple interface and logical structure to access these libraries. CodeIgniter lets you creatively focus on your project by minimizing the amount of code needed for a given task.
CodeIgniter at salsa
At Salsa we develop large scale web applications using the Code Igniter framework. Code Igniter is a really simple, lightweight, but incredibly powerful Open Source framework for the PHP language used to create fully featured web applications.
We utilise this framework to help deliver projects quicker, more efficiently and cost effective, and with a greater degree of accuracy. Because of the flexible architecture, Code Igniter allows Salsa developers to develop quickly, delivering short iterations of functionality to clients, allowing regular updates and feedback at regular intervals.
